GlassMeter Privacy Policy

Effective May 11, 2026 · Updated June 11, 2026

GlassMeter does not use advertising, tracking, analytics SDKs, or third-party data brokers. The app does not require an account. Camera frames, metering calculations, film simulation, and your in-app photo library are processed and stored locally on your device.

GlassMeter is a native iOS light-metering and film-preview app. This policy explains what information the app accesses, what stays on your device, and what is shared only when you choose to use optional features.

Information GlassMeter Accesses

Camera

GlassMeter requires camera access to provide live metering, viewfinder preview, histogram analysis, and reference captures. Camera frames are processed on device. GlassMeter does not upload camera frames to a GlassMeter server.

Location

Location access is optional and is used only when Location Tagging is enabled. When enabled, GlassMeter may:

If Location Tagging is disabled, GlassMeter stops location updates and does not attach GPS metadata to new captures.

Photos

Photos access is optional and is used only when Save to Photos is enabled or when you export your library. Captures are always saved to GlassMeter's on-device library first. When enabled, GlassMeter requests add-only Photos permission so it can write an additional copy to your Photos library.

Information Stored on Your Device

GlassMeter stores app settings and capture metadata locally, including items such as selected film stock, lens, exposure settings, metering mode, spot-metering location, notes, and optional location metadata. Captured reference images are stored in the app's local documents storage unless you choose to export, share, or save them to Photos.

You can delete frames from the in-app library. Deleting a frame from GlassMeter removes the app's local copy and metadata for that frame. If you previously saved a copy to Photos, that Photos copy is managed separately by the Photos app.

Sharing and Export

GlassMeter shares data only when you take an explicit action, such as saving to Photos, using the iOS share sheet, or exporting library data. Those actions are handled by iOS and the destination you choose.

Data Collection, Tracking, and Analytics

GlassMeter does not collect personal data on a GlassMeter server. GlassMeter does not track you across apps or websites. GlassMeter does not include third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs.

Apple may process information as part of iOS system services you choose to use, such as Photos, Location Services, iCloud, Share Sheet destinations, or Apple geocoding. Those services are governed by Apple's privacy policies and your device settings.

Children

GlassMeter is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your Choices

You can control GlassMeter permissions at any time in the iOS Settings app. You can also disable Location Tagging and Save to Photos from GlassMeter Settings.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated as GlassMeter changes. Updates will be posted here with a new effective date.
